Sustainability Collaboration and Partnerships

At Leva, sustainability isn’t just something we talk about — it’s how we work. Through our Climate Action and Sustainability Policy, we’ve already cut our carbon footprint by more than half since 2022, operating as a low-carbon, remote-first organisation. We align our efforts with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the principles of Green Project Management (GPM-b), ensuring our actions match our words.

We’re especially proud to celebrate Leva Director Greg Rozen, recognised as one of the inaugural PMI GPM Global Sustainability Champions. As Chair of the PMI New Zealand Sustainability Special Interest Group, Greg has been instrumental in raising awareness, fostering collaboration, and helping project professionals embed sustainability into their work. His leadership reflects not only professional excellence but also a deep commitment to creating lasting, positive impact for communities and organisations.

Leva has committed to the following partnerships:

  • Leva is part of the GPM Global Ambassadors programme
  • Leva are GPM-b Certified PM Practitioners
  • Leva director, Greg Rozen is Chair PMINZ Sustainability SIG (Special Interest Group)
  • Leva director, Greg Rozen is a PMI GPM Global Sustainability Champion

Leva's Climate Action and Sustainability Plan

Leva’s Climate Action and Sustainability Plan provides the detailed roadmap as to how we will implement our Climate Action and Sustainability Policy. It includes specific actions with timeframes and milestones to enable us to measure our progress over time, as well as reporting this progress through an annual report.

Our key actions for the coming year include:

  • Continuing to reduce our carbon impact through our ways of working.
  • Investigate options for giving back as a Leva team to our local community through support of community planting initiatives.
  • Working with clients to implement and embed sustainable project management frameworks and delivery methods.

Our full Climate Action Plan is available to view here.

Leva's Carbon Footprint and Reporting

Leva is playing its part to mitigate the effects of climate change and continues to reduce its carbon impact. Since establishing its baseline carbon footprint in 2022-2023, with net emissions of 1.47 tCO2-e, Leva has reduced its net emissions in 2024-2025 to 0.68 tCO2-e.  This reduction was primarily due to a reduction in its office operations impact and increased use of remote meetings. Leva already operates as a low carbon impact business, and this was evident when benchmarking Leva’s ways of working against the UK Benchmark (circularecology.com) of 6.6 kgCO2-e per person per day for office working, and 2.7 kgCO2-e per person per day for working from home.  Leva’s carbon impact is 0.34 kgCO2-e per person per day (i.e. 5% of the UK benchmark for office working, and 13% of the UK benchmark for working from home).

As part of its Climate Action and Sustainability Policy and Plan, Leva continues to review and update its ten key areas of focus to reduce its carbon footprint.  These primarily relate to office-based operations and moving people.  The key highlights for the past year can be found below.
